During your next visit to Puerto Aventuras, be sure to stop by The Bzar. Featuring an eclectic array of trinkets, decorations, glass wear, candles, jewelry, and art, the owner, Cindy, strives to stock the store with stuff that is just a little different than the rest. A few of her more pronounced pieces come all the way from Bali. Much of her jewelry is made by Ballesteros in Taxco, the silver city of Mexico. An ample selection of rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces is available to satisfy your silver-fix. Also, the paintings on the walls were painted by local artists invited by Cindy to display their works on her walls.
As far as local Maya and Mexican pieces, hand made hammocks big enough for the whole family are brought from the state of Campeche to be sold at Bzar. There is a small collection of clothing featuring exquisite Maya embroidery as well as some delicate pareos. Finely painted leather detailing colorful Maya scenes are always a fabulous gift to take home to the family.
