The Sian Ka’an Biosphere is an oasis for natural beauty along the Quintana Roo Coastline. However, the reserve is so big, it can be difficult to know where to go. Cesiak (Centro Ecológico Sian Ka’an) is a wonderful, environmentally friendly option. Located just 4 km south of the arched entrance to Sian Ka’an on the Tulum Beach road, Cesiak has a restaurant on site as well as many palapa covered luxury tent bungalows to rent.
Featuring a picture perfect beach, a 360 degree view of water (ocean on one side and turquoise lagoons on the other), kayaking tours, and boating tours, Cesiak is a place you can spend the day. During the winter months, don’t miss the sunset bird tour. Last time Sac-Be went, we saw as well as heard the intriguing calls of well over 200 birds returning to Bird Island for the night’s sleep. The kayaking tours are a great way to get out and see the water foul and more without the sounds of a motor. Silently you can paddle past Osprey Nests and Rosette Spoonbill nests.
