Once one of the Riviera Maya’s best kept secrets dining, it is now located on the opposite side of the highway. Restaurante Oscar y Lalo, specializes in the freshest seafood. It was nestled amid the giant palms in the private northern bay of Las Bahias de Punta Soliman, but moved to make room for development. You can still enjoy cocktails, fresh seafood ceviche, and outrageous platters piled high with shrimp, lobster, and fish.
For the most complete sampling of fresh seafood, opt for the Especialidad de Lalo. Cooked to the number of people in your party, this seafood lover’s feast includes lobster, shrimp, filet of conch, barracuda steak, chicken fajitas, and a whole fried fish, as well as sides and handmade tortillas. Another perfect must-try platter is the Especialidad de Oscar featuring king crab stuffed with lobster and shrimp prepared to your liking.
A few of Lalo’s personal drink recommendations include the Tequila Macho – choice tequila bathing a Serrano papper that’s been sliced at the end to let the fire escape…it gets hotter the longer you sip it! – and the Especial de Chemuyil – best described as creamy, chocolaty heaven! Once located on Solimon Bahia it is now right on the main highway.
