Dear Friends, Due to problems launching our new website, we
have decided to revamp the existing one. We are still adding to it, but
it is ready to use - when you have a free moment please take a look http://www.playadelcarmenpets.com
If
you would be interested in sponsoring a particular dog, please contact
us for details. If you are currently sponsoring and your name is not
showing on the website, please contact us asap in order that it may be
rectified. We are nearing the final stage of building a new,
better, larger shelter which has only come about with the help of our
wonderful supporters.
At the moment, with so many mouths to
feed, our current food bill is almost $1000 U.S. per month. On top of
this we obviously have on-going veterinary costs. These animals and the
literally thousands more that are currently roaming our streets badly
need help. We hate to turn any needy animal away, but with rising costs
and falling donations we are struggling to support those already in our
care. Any help, even a small amount, can make such a difference. We are at the end of our first year of 'pet rescue', but we come not to the end but to a brand new beginning. Starting
a charity in Mexico (particularly as foreigners) is a long, arduous and
expensive process, but it is worth it to reach our goal. We are
so grateful to those of you who have been with us every step of the
way, sharing your stories and photos, giving help and advice, visiting,
bathing, de-fleaing and de-ticking (yuk!) and generally loving our
ever-changing 'pack'. Thank you for supporting us during our
trials and tribulations, our highs and our lows and for allowing us to
bask in the warmth of your generous spirits. It has only been
through our supporters that we have been able to achieve so much in
such a short space of time. Although we sadly remember the many for
whom the love and aid came too late, so many more owe their lives to
you. Thank you. We hope that this year and in the coming years,
we will be able to help even more of these adorable creatures to be
strong and healthy and either placed in loving homes or living out the
remainder of their lives in a safe environment. Our warmest thanks and kindest regards, Jen & Andy |
