Ed Blume, Madison, Wisconsin, began
volunteering with Centro Ecológico Akumal after getting a PADI Open Water
certification in 2000. He directs communications and outreach for RENEW Wisconsin
(www.renewwisconsin.org), a
state-wide NGO that promotes renewable energy technologies and policies. To
stay in touch with the sea and the area, Ed created and moderates two blogs --
Eco-Yucatán (http://eco-yucatan.blogspot.com) and Marine and Coastal
Conservation (http://akumalsealife.blogspot.com).
