Rhett Schober, a native of Vail Colorado, came to the Yucatan 20 years ago
on Scholarship to study Mayan Archaeology in Izamal Yucatan. His first
encounter with Akumal came on a break from his studies to go fly fishing.
After college Rhett went to work in Japan for 10 years where he met his
beautiful wife Kazue. Together they have a very cute daughter Beniko! After
Japan, Rhett spent several years in Vail working in the fly fishing guide
business. Six years ago Rhett and Kazue decided to move down to Akumal to
start a property management company and be closer to his mother Isabel
Schober. Now as the new owner of Akumal Villas, Rhett is even more committed
to serving the owners, guests and community with care and diligence.
