Sea Turtle Update: According to CEA's Turtle Program Coordinator, Armando Lorences, they have now recorded 90 loggerhead nests and 179 green turtle nests, with 4,431 loggerhead hatchlings and 2,344 green turtle hatchlings so far this season. Armando and their other "tortugueros" work tirelessly, patrolling the beaches all night to protect these creatures, and we love to see these numbers keep climbing throughout turtle season! CEA is grateful for the hard work of their tortugueros, and for all of the support they get from their friends and neighbors. THANK YOU!

Peanut Pet Shelter has a new location. Growing by leaps and bounds, one animal at a time, PPS has had to move. Long-time animal supporter Lucy James recently moved back to the States and PPS is occupying her ranch. The ranch is located west of Akumal Pueblo and PPS will still be holding their weekly dog washes. On wash day you will have the option of being dropped at Akumal beach or returned to Playa del Carmen. Good Luck PPS, and we know the animals will love their new digs!
