Tropical Birds are of the most colorful creatures we have here in the Riviera Maya, but how does one view these birds while down on vacation. Xaman Ha Aviary on the golf course in Playacar, just south of Playa del Carmen, is a great option to go and see some of the area’s most beautiful feathered friends. A tropical bird lover’s sanctuary, Xaman Ha is open daily from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Gorgeous pathways grown with gorgeous, manicured jungle plants wind around each of the various species. From stunning Scarlet Macaws, to ever-illusive Toucans, to bright pink Flamingos, all of the magical creatures are present. Many species of parrots, water foul like a giant Great White Herron, and much much more complete the tour. Xaman-Ha (meaning “water from the north”) is an ideal environment to bird watch and to learn about Quintana Roo's abundant natural heritage.
